We have a large area of western facing windows in our living area which lets in heat from late morning all through the afternoon, resulting in a sauna. We have ceiling insulation but this does not help. We are wondering is it better to get the whole wall of windows tinted for heat reduction or to have external shades/awnings put in? If so, which would type of awning/ shade would be best? Please help, got some advice that tinting windows is best then told that by others that external shading would be better. Would really appreciate your response.


I purchased a Pyle wired FM modulator to add an MP3 player to my radio. It has an electrical connector I am not familiar with. It is a hollow cone on one end that apparently slips into a metal cylinder on the other end and then is crimped. Do I split the 12 volt wire to the radio, cut one of the wires strip it back on both ends, twist the ends back together and feed that into the cone end of the connector, slip that into the cylinder and crimp it down? What is the name of this connector? Maybe I can find some info. on google.


Hi I have a Kyocera mita FS-3800 computer printer. After replacing the printer cartridge and doing some general cleaning it resulted in giving me the massage Paper jam. However, there is no pager jam. Is there a way to tell the printer there is no jam? Any suggestions would be appriciated. Thanks Art.


Should he insulate the attic? My son had an energy audit done on their 1920s colonial. Attic is largely floored over what appears to be vermiculite & perhaps some added cellulose. Very little venting up there, only the gable windows (no soffit or ridge vents). The company that did the audit recommends he insulate the attic, turn it into heated space. This would mean putting insulation up against the roof, and on the walls at the roof ends. Does this make sense to forum experts? I thought the roof needed ventilation or it would deteriorate rapidly.

Hello I have a house that has a boiler in the basement...which I am told it on it last leg....and an aircondition with ducts running through the attic.....last year when we used it the ceiling in our bedroom fell in ( a pipe had frozen during the winter) I live in minnesota...than this year the water came out of the door jams...we had a mold inspector come and look and says we have mold, the ducts work is all screwed up and you have to tae out the fan to get to the mold.....he says I need a new airconditioner, duct work and a boiler( we have a boiler with forced air......I have been sick regularly in the house ..I am stay at home artist and frankly hardly ever leave.....the docs could not find out what was wrong with me ,,,we told them about the mold and they said that could be it....this guy wants 20,000 d0llars to do the job...any advide...thanks

IMB T-40 will not connect wireless network sitting next to Linksys 2.4 Ghz router. Router works with two other lap tops. IBM finds the network but will not connect. I check everything I know to check. It uses Cisco Systems PCI Sireless Lan Adapter. Tools keep telling me to make sure the eternet cable is connected. The connect screen also says waiting for the association. How do I fix this? Thank you Jay Morris


my car takes about 10mins to start if it has been driven within a couple of hours, if it sits for a few it starts right up. when i turn the key you can hear the crank spinning but the engine doesnt fire up. if you hold the key over the crank spins and does not stop. its 69 mustang coupe, 351w, 4bbl carb mighty demon 650. battery, ign coil, spark plugs, spark wires replaced, timing is good etc. ???


I am developing an application to run on a PDA. The PDA is running on Windows CE 5.0 and has a barcode scanner integrated. I am using Framework 3.5 VB.Net 2008 smart device project to develop my application. Now, my question is about opening the barcode scanner to read scanned barcodes into my PDA application. I used system.io.ports to open COM1, 2, 3 and I can get them opened but obviously none of theses ports opens up the scanner. Any idea how to open/communicate with the PDA scanner?


My question is about IHT. I own in partnership with my wife and son a working farm which comprises a Farmhouse, farm buildings and land. We also converted a barn adjacent to the farmhouse for my son to live in. As well as this we have some industrial units (3 miles away from the farm) and an investment property originally used as a labourers house but now let out. We have a 2010 Ford Fusion SE 2.5 Automatic. This car has a TPMS. We plan to buy winter tires. If we also buy winter rims we need to the install TPMS sensors in each rim. The system only advises of low tire pressure, it does not provide any information as to which tire. This seems to be much simpler than some other systems and may require less set up. My question is does the system on the car automatically detect the new sensors or is a tool and procedure required to make the system recognize the new sensors? The answer has some impact on whether or not I buy rims.

I have worked for the same company my first and only job for 10 years. Six years ago I was asked to work afternoons. I had always been non exempt I have never been told what this means, just that I have to write in the hours on timecard. So for the last 10 years I have been writing in the hours on my time card and 6 years ago I began to receive shift differential 10% because of my new hours. But since the beginning of 2009 the hospital stopped paying me the S10% and said that they made a mistake that I had been exempt for the last 6 years so they will no longer pay me the S10% and they will be kind enough not to charge me for all the money they paid me thru the years. My employer had me sign a written warning today that was not an admittance of guilt, but it was just a document for my employer to put in my file. He said, That if I did not sign the document then I quit. I asked him if he was firing me and he said, No. I signed this document out of fear because I do not want to quit and lose my job. Do I have any legal recourse even if I am still currently employed? Again, I feel that the employer does not want to fire me because he does not want to pay for unemployment so he is coercing me to sign a written warning document and says that if I do not sign then I quit. This is an at will employer, but is this legal?


I was falsely accused of stealing 3 five gallon containers of paint. I have been requested by our homeowners board of directors to provide evidence to the contrary.
